This tour operates everyday from June 1 to October 15.
Itinerary:
After breakfast, around 9:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Fethiye's main marina for a full-day boat tour, visiting hidden coves and serene bays in the area. You can choose to either swim, relax, sunbathe...
Sites you will see:
* Butterfly Valley:
Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi). Its name comes from a large swarm of endemic butterflies, the habitat of which is near the waterfalls on the canyon wall furthest from the sea. The view of the canyon from the village above is just as—if not more—beautiful as the view it has when you are in. Locals used to know this place by the name Güdürümsü before the valley was re-christened with its current, and more romantic name.
* St. Nicholas Island (Gemiler Island):
The Byzantine ruins of five churches built between the fourth and sixth centuries AD remain, along with a 350 metres (1,150 ft) processional walkway. Other remains from the same period include around forty other ecclesiastical buildings and over fifty Christian tombs. One of the churches was cut directly from the rock at the island's highest point, and is located directly at the western end.
Modern archaeologists believe that the island may be the location of St. Nicholas' original tomb. The traditional Turkish name for the island is Gemiler Adas?, meaning "Island of Boats", with St. Nicholas being the patron saint of sailors; the island was also referred to as St. Nicholas Island by seafarers in the medieval period. Archaeologists believe he was interred in the rock hewn church following his death in 326.
